Research and tests
Here we did a test where we each chose a color and gathered all the pictures in that category. Then we used the metadata to put them on the map to see what shapes that creates.
I also tried it at a smaler scale with my own pics to see if the shape works better that way
After the feedback we each separately went on another walk, this time we walked randomly and took pictures of bright colors.
This is a collage made from the images taken on the walk.
All images are cut out and places on the map on the spot they were taken
feedback notes
I think its interesting to compare this collage with a souvenir. We don't travel much during corona so maybe this could be a cool return of the souvenir?
- Difference between aesthetic use of color and incidental
- In cities it might be interesting to take pictures of aesthetic use of color and map them out (make souvenirs out of that?)
Perhaps we could have "going outside more during corona" as an aim for our project and create something like a color game. Like for example green is left yellow is forward etc.
People - Anyone who wants to get out and explore, take some time out
of their day for some peace

Place - currently aiming for the games to take place in Rotterdam

Plot - A mindfulness game that can involve color and infrastructure

Purpose - Getting people to slow down and feel a bit better, recognize
their surrounds and be more present in the moment
On the 2nd walk, I found that going out specifically searching for color made me appreciate everything that has color. It was nice because I started to notice all the little objects and patterns which I had missed in the first place.

I wanted to take this concept and develop the idea into an interactive game that the public could use.
- design different colors route that people can take based on how they are feeling
colors and emotions
I mostly focussed on yellow but took pics of the other bright colors along the way. I also made shapes out of this but they weren't as interesting as expected.
Color mindfulness game?

Returning to the database
We felt like our project didn't have much to do with datadesign anymore, so we asked for feedback from Jeroen on wednesday. He recommended us to return to the original database and inspect the routes the others have already taken, and find our own method of translating their colors into (data)art (in the context of mindfulness).

I also asked if the project could just be artistic instead of useful (since the assignment mentioned a service) and he said that is fine as long as there's a clear meaning behind it.
